Overview

Rubus idaeus Schlaraffia® 'Golddigger'® is a distinctive autumn-fruiting raspberry that produces generous crops of sweet, aromatic golden-yellow berries. The unusual fruit colour makes it a standout addition to the kitchen garden while offering the same versatility as traditional red raspberries for eating fresh, baking, and preserving. This organically grown variety features an upright, compact habit well suited to vegetable gardens, fruit beds, and large containers. White spring and summer flowers attract pollinating insects before berries ripen from late summer into early autumn.

Why We Love It

Striking golden-yellow berries add vibrant colour and sweet, aromatic flavour to the harvest. Organically grown and compact, this variety delivers a productive autumn crop that fits easily into raised beds or patio pots.

Growing Guide

Position Plant in full sun for the best fruit quality and sweetest flavour. Choose a sheltered position with fertile soil and provide support using wires or a simple cane framework as the plants mature.
Watering Keep the soil consistently moist during the growing season, particularly while fruit is developing. Mulching around the base helps conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
Soil Grow in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid ground that becomes waterlogged during winter.
Pruning As an autumn-fruiting raspberry, cut all canes down to ground level during winter after fruiting to encourage a fresh crop on new canes the following season.
Harvesting Harvest berries from late summer into early autumn when they have developed their rich golden colour and detach easily from the plant. Excellent eaten fresh, in desserts, or for jams and freezing.
