Overview

Rubus idaeus 'Autumn Happy' is an autumn-fruiting raspberry selected for producing generous crops of sweet, flavourful berries later in the growing season. Organically grown and supplied at approximately 55 cm tall in a 3 litre pot, it is an excellent choice for home gardeners looking to enjoy fresh raspberries straight from the plant.

Growing Guide

Plant in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Water regularly while establishing and during prolonged dry periods, particularly while flowers and fruit are developing. Applying a mulch in spring helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Provide support with wires or a simple framework if required to keep fruiting canes upright and make harvesting easier.

Harvesting

Raspberries are ready to pick when they are fully coloured and come away easily from the plant. Regular harvesting encourages the remaining fruit to ripen and allows you to enjoy fresh berries over an extended period.

Pruning

As an autumn-fruiting raspberry, 'Autumn Happy' fruits on the current season's canes. Once fruiting has finished and the plant is dormant, simply cut all canes down to ground level during late winter before new growth begins.

Why We Love It

Autumn-fruiting raspberries offer delicious home-grown fruit when many summer crops have finished. Their simple pruning routine and reliable cropping make them an excellent choice for both experienced fruit growers and those planting raspberries for the first time.
