Overview

Honeyberry 'Duet' is an organically grown fruiting shrub that produces elongated blue berries with a sweet, tangy flavour often compared to a blend of blueberry and blackcurrant. As one of the earliest soft fruits to ripen, it provides a welcome harvest in late spring to early summer, ahead of many traditional berry crops. In spring, the shrub is covered with small creamy-yellow flowers that are attractive to early pollinating insects. Its compact, bushy habit makes it well suited to kitchen gardens, fruit borders, and larger containers.

Why We Love It

'Duet' extends the fruiting season by producing one of the earliest harvests in the garden. Its combination of attractive spring flowers, edible fruit, and reliable hardiness makes it a rewarding choice for both experienced and first-time fruit growers.

Soil & Mulching Honeyberries prefer fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil and benefit from an annual mulch to help conserve moisture.
Watering Water regularly while the plant is becoming established and during prolonged dry spells.
Pruning Prune after harvesting by removing a few of the oldest stems to encourage vigorous new growth and maintain productivity.

Good to Know
