Rhododendron 'Cunningham's White' is a dependable evergreen rhododendron, valued for its abundant display of large white flowers in mid to late spring. Growing Guide

Position

Plant in partial shade in a sheltered position, protected from strong winds and intense afternoon sun. It performs particularly well beneath the light canopy of mature trees or in woodland-style gardens.

Soil

Grow in moist, humus-rich, acidic soil. If your garden has neutral or alkaline soil, plant in a container using ericaceous compost or prepare an acid planting bed.

Watering

Water regularly during establishment and during prolonged dry spells. Applying an annual mulch of leaf mould, composted bark or other organic material helps conserve moisture and supports healthy root growth.

Seasonal Care

Pruning is rarely necessary. Remove spent flower trusses after flowering if desired, taking care not to damage developing buds. Mulch annually with ericaceous organic matter and, if needed, feed with a fertiliser formulated for acid-loving plants.
