Overview
Dracaena bacularis 'Mikado', formerly known as Sansevieria bacularis 'Mikado', is a compact, architectural houseplant grown for its slender, cylindrical green leaves. The upright foliage creates a clean, contemporary look, making it an excellent choice for desks, shelves, windowsills and smaller indoor spaces.
As a succulent, 'Mikado' stores water in its leaves, making it forgiving if you occasionally miss a watering. Its tidy growth habit and low-maintenance nature have made it a popular choice for both first-time and experienced houseplant owners.

Growing Guide
Indoor Placement
Place in bright, indirect light for the strongest growth, although it will also tolerate moderate light levels. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense midday sun through glass.
Watering
Allow the compost to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly, especially during autumn and winter, and always allow excess water to drain away.
Soil
Grow in a free-draining cactus or houseplant compost and use a pot with drainage holes to help prevent excess moisture around the roots.
Feeding
Feed once a month during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser at half strength. Feeding is generally unnecessary during winter.
