Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a healthy root system. Once established, water during extended dry spells, especially container-grown plants.
Grow in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Apply a mulch in spring to help conserve moisture and improve soil condition.
Generally hardy in Irish gardens. Ensure good drainage during winter and protect newly planted container specimens from prolonged freezing conditions if severe weather is expected.
