Overview

Scabiosa 'Butterfly Blue' is a compact herbaceous perennial renowned for its long-lasting display of delicate lavender-blue pincushion flowers. Blooming from late spring through to autumn with regular deadheading, it provides months of colour while attracting a wide variety of pollinating insects. Its neat, mounding habit makes it an excellent choice for sunny borders, gravel gardens, cottage-style planting and patio containers. The softly textured flowers also make charming additions to fresh cut flower arrangements.

Planting & Position Plant in a sunny position with well-drained soil.
Watering Once established, Scabiosa 'Butterfly Blue' tolerates short periods of dry weather, although watering during prolonged dry spells will encourage continued flowering, particularly in containers.
Pruning & Care Remove spent blooms regularly to promote repeat flowering throughout the season. Cut back old foliage in late winter or early spring as fresh growth begins.
