Overview

Scindapsus pictus 'Argyraeus', commonly known as Satin Pothos, is a beautiful trailing houseplant grown for its velvety, heart-shaped leaves, generously marked with shimmering silver variegation. Its elegant foliage and cascading habit make it an excellent choice for shelves, hanging planters or training up a moss pole for vertical interest.

Growing Guide

Position

Place in bright, indirect light to maintain the best leaf colour and variegation. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which may scorch the foliage. While it tolerates slightly lower light levels, growth may become slower and the variegation less pronounced.

Watering

Allow the top layer of compost to dry before watering thoroughly. Empty any excess water from the saucer or decorative pot, as consistently wet compost can lead to root problems.

Feeding

Feed once a month with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during autumn and winter as growth naturally slows.

Indoor Placement

An excellent choice for living rooms, home offices, kitchens and bathrooms with natural light. Display on a shelf to showcase its trailing stems or provide a moss pole to encourage larger leaves and upright growth.

Why We Love It

  • The silvery markings give each leaf a distinctive satin-like appearance.
  • Equally attractive as a trailing or climbing plant.
  • Easy to care for and suitable for a wide range of indoor environments.
  • Adds lush greenery and texture without demanding intensive maintenance.

Good to Know

Wipe the leaves occasionally with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and keep the foliage looking its best. Turning the pot every few weeks will encourage balanced, even growth.
