Overview
Phedimus kamtschaticus 'Weihenstephaner Gold', often still sold as Sedum kamtschaticum 'Weihenstephaner Gold', is a hardy, low-growing perennial that forms a neat carpet of fleshy green foliage. During summer it produces clusters of rich golden-yellow star-shaped flowers that create a vibrant display and provide a valuable source of nectar for pollinating insects.
Its spreading habit makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, gravel beds, the front of sunny borders and containers, where it softens edges and helps suppress weeds. Once established, it copes well with dry conditions, making it well suited to free-draining sites.

Growing Guide
Plant in a sunny position with well-drained soil. This alpine performs best where drainage is excellent, particularly during winter. Water regularly while establishing, then only during prolonged dry periods. Avoid heavy, waterlogged soils, which can reduce vigour.
A light application of compost or a balanced fertiliser in spring is sufficient to support healthy growth.
Wildlife
The nectar-rich flowers are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects during the flowering season, making this an excellent addition to wildlife-friendly planting.
Seasonal Care
Remove spent flower stems after blooming to keep plants tidy. Established clumps can be divided in spring or autumn if they become overcrowded or to create new plants.
