Sedum 'Stoneland'® Mix

Sedum 'Stoneland'® Series (Mixed Varieties)

P12 nursery pot

Plant Highlights: Colourful mixed succulent selection • Evergreen foliage • Compact, low-growing habit • Excellent for rockeries and containers • Loved by pollinators

Overview

The Sedum 'Stoneland'® Series is a collection of compact, hardy stonecrops selected for their attractive succulent foliage and long-lasting seasonal colour. Supplied as a mixed assortment, individual plants may vary in foliage tones and flower colour, while all share the same neat, spreading habit and exceptional tolerance of sunny, dry conditions.

These evergreen alpines are ideal for rockeries, gravel gardens, raised beds, green roofs and patio containers, where they form attractive cushions of fleshy foliage. During summer, clusters of star-shaped flowers provide valuable nectar for bees and other pollinating insects, adding another season of interest to this easy-care group of plants.

Why We Love It

  • Compact succulent foliage provides year-round colour and texture.
  • Mixed selection offers attractive variation in foliage and flowers.
  • Excellent for dry, sunny planting schemes.
  • Nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects.
  • Low-maintenance once established.

Growing Guide

Position

Plant in a sunny, open position where the foliage receives plenty of direct sunlight. These sedums thrive in bright, exposed locations and perform particularly well in rockeries, gravel gardens and raised beds.

Watering

Water regularly while plants establish. Once established, sedums are drought tolerant and generally only require watering during prolonged dry periods. Avoid excessive watering, especially during winter.

Soil

Grow in sharply free-draining soil. Sandy, gravelly or stony soils are ideal. When planting in containers, use a free-draining compost with added grit to prevent waterlogging.

Hardiness and Winter Care

Hardy throughout most of Ireland provided drainage is excellent. Winter wet is more likely to cause problems than cold, so avoid planting in poorly drained sites.

Routine Care

Remove faded flower heads if desired and trim away any damaged growth in spring. Mature clumps can be divided every few years to maintain vigour and create additional plants.

Perfect For

  • Rockeries and alpine gardens.
  • Gravel gardens.
  • Raised beds and dry borders.
  • Patio pots and troughs.
  • Pollinator-friendly planting.

Good to Know

This is a mixed selection, so the foliage colour, flower colour and exact growth habit will vary between individual plants supplied. All members of the Stoneland® Series share the same compact growth and preference for full sun and excellent drainage.
