Sunflower Solar Flash F1 Hybrid

Early-flowering, dwarf and bushy, this eye-catching sunflower boasts a distinctive bronze ‘halo’ and chocolate coloured, pollen-free centre. Looks impressive in a patio pot, or can be grown as an attractive and unusual annual hedge.

Sow thinly, 2mm deep in drills 45cm (18in) apart in well cultivated soil raked to a fine tilth or direct into small containers. Germination takes around 21 days. When large enough to handle, thin to 30-45cm (12-18in) apart. For early flowering, sow indoors, individually in 7.5cm (3in) pots at 20-25C. When well grown, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out after all risk of frost into borders or containers.
