Overview
Syringa vulgaris Mix is a mixed selection of common lilac varieties, grown for their beautifully scented flower panicles and reliable spring display. As this is a mixed product, individual plants may vary in flower colour and growth habit, but all offer the unmistakable fragrance and seasonal charm that have made lilacs a favourite in gardens for generations.
Supplied in a 15 cm pot at approximately 45 cm tall, these young shrubs are ideal for planting in sunny borders, cottage gardens or as part of an informal flowering hedge. Their heart-shaped foliage provides an attractive backdrop to the abundant spring blooms.

Growing Guide
Plant in a sunny position in fertile, well-drained soil. Lilacs flower best with plenty of sunlight and benefit from a sheltered position where their fragrance can be enjoyed.
Water regularly while establishing and during prolonged dry periods. Apply a mulch of compost or well-rotted organic matter each spring to help conserve moisture and maintain healthy growth.
Wildlife
The fragrant spring flowers attract bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, making lilacs a valuable addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.
Pruning
Prune immediately after flowering if required, removing spent flower heads and lightly shaping the shrub. Avoid hard pruning in late summer or winter, as this may reduce flowering the following spring.
Why We Love It
Few shrubs match the perfume of a flowering lilac. A mixed selection offers the pleasure of different flower colours while delivering the same abundant spring blooms and classic garden character.
