Overview

Trachelospermum 'Star of Venice' is an elegant evergreen climber grown for its glossy foliage and beautifully scented, star-shaped flowers. Flowering through summer, it creates a refined display while providing year-round structure and screening with its attractive evergreen leaves.

Supplied in a 3 litre pot at approximately 70 cm tall, this young climber is ideal for training onto walls, fences, pergolas or trellis. It is equally suitable for growing in a large container where support is available for the stems to climb.

Growing Guide

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil in a sheltered position with support for climbing. Full sun encourages the best flowering, although the plant will also grow well in partial shade.

Water regularly during establishment and during prolonged dry spells, particularly when grown in containers. Apply a mulch in spring to help conserve moisture and feed the soil.

Pruning

Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and keep the plant within its allotted space. Tie in young shoots as they develop to create an even framework over walls or trellis.
