Westland Bone Meal Plant Food 1.5kg is a traditional, naturally derived slow-acting fertiliser formulated to encourage strong, healthy root growth and successful plant establishment.

Its NPK 5.5-7.5-0 analysis provides nitrogen alongside a particularly useful level of phosphorus. Phosphorus plays an important role in root development, making Bone Meal especially useful when establishing trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants.

The ready-to-use feed can be incorporated into the soil when planting or applied around established plants as a top dressing. Its nutrients are released gradually, making it a practical choice for maintaining soil fertility throughout the growing season.

Nutrient Analysis

The phosphorus-rich formulation is particularly useful for encouraging root growth and better plant establishment, while nitrogen supports healthy plant growth.

How to Use

Trees, Shrubs & Borders

Apply at 135g per m² and gently work the Bone Meal into the soil.

For new trees and shrubs, it can be incorporated into the soil in the planting hole before backfilling.

For established plants, distribute the feed evenly around the base and gently fork it into the soil without damaging the roots.

Flowers

Apply at 135g per m² over the soil surface and gently fork in. Avoid allowing the product to remain in contact with plant leaves or stems.

Water well after application.

Vegetables

Apply at 70g per m² as a top dressing and work thoroughly into the soil.

Ongoing Feeding

Bone Meal can be applied every 4–6 weeks during the growing season to help maintain soil fertility.

For best results, use from February through to the end of October. During dry weather, water before and after application.

One handful is approximately 35g.

When planting, mix the Bone Meal thoroughly with the surrounding soil rather than leaving concentrated fertiliser directly against plant roots.
