Growing Guide

Position

Place in bright, indirect light for the strongest growth, although the ZZ Plant also performs well in lower light conditions. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can scorch the foliage.

Watering

Allow the compost to dry well between waterings. Water thoroughly, allowing excess water to drain away completely before returning the plant to its decorative position. Reduce watering during winter when growth naturally slows.

Compost

Grow in a free-draining houseplant compost using a pot with drainage holes. Repot only when the rhizomes begin to fill the container.

Temperature and Humidity

Maintain temperatures between 18–26°C and protect from cold draughts and temperatures below 15°C. Average household humidity is perfectly suitable, and no additional misting is required.

Routine Care

Dust the glossy leaves occasionally to keep them looking their best and to maximise light absorption. Feed monthly with a balanced houseplant fertiliser during spring and summer. Remove any ageing stems cleanly at the base if required.
