‘Muscat Blue’ is one of the best-tasting outdoor grapes for cooler climates, producing large, deep blue-black bunches with a rich Muscat aroma. It crops well on a warm wall or pergola in many parts of Ireland.

How to Plant
Plant in Well-drained, moderately fertile soil; avoid heavy, waterlogged ground. in a position with Full sun in a sheltered, south- or west-facing position.. Dig a generous planting hole, mix in organic matter, and water thoroughly after planting. Apply a mulch around the base to help conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
Care Tips
- Train using a Guyot or rod-and-spur system along horizontal wires.
- Winter prune to maintain the framework and spur positions.
- Summer prune to remove excessive side growth and expose the bunches to sun.

On a suitable support, vines can cover 2–3m of wall or trellis within 3–4 seasons.
Harvest
Typically ripens from late August into September in warm summers. Taste regularly and harvest when fully sweet.
