The needle-like leaves release a distinctive aroma when brushed or harvested, making rosemary an essential addition to kitchen gardens and patio herb collections.

Growing Guide
Plant in a warm, sunny position with free-draining soil. Rosemary performs best where excess winter moisture can drain away readily, making it well suited to raised beds, gravel gardens and containers.
Water regularly while establishing, then only during prolonged dry spells. Container-grown plants may need more frequent watering during warm weather, allowing the compost to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid waterlogged conditions, particularly during winter.
Harvesting
Harvest sprigs as required throughout the year. Regular light trimming encourages bushy growth, but avoid removing large amounts of older woody stems in one go.
Wildlife
The flowers provide an excellent source of nectar for bees and other pollinating insects, particularly in spring when other food sources may be limited.
Why We Love It
Rosemary combines ornamental appeal with everyday usefulness. Its evergreen foliage provides year-round structure, while freshly picked sprigs add distinctive flavour to roasted vegetables, potatoes, breads and meat dishes.
