Begonia maculata, commonly known as the Polka Dot Begonia, is one of the most recognisable indoor foliage plants, admired for its elongated olive-green leaves decorated with contrasting silvery-white spots. Indoor Placement
Place in a bright position with plenty of indirect natural light. Avoid prolonged direct sunshine, which can scorch the foliage, while very low light may reduce growth and flowering. A warm room with moderate humidity suits this begonia well, making bright bathrooms and kitchens with natural light particularly favourable.
Water when the top few centimetres of compost begin to dry, allowing excess water to drain away freely. Avoid leaving the pot standing in water and reduce watering during the winter months.
