Growing Guide
Position
Place in bright, indirect light, away from strong midday sun, which can scorch the leaves. A warm room with consistent temperatures and good natural light will help maintain the rich foliage colours.
Watering
Water when the top layer of compost begins to dry, keeping the compost lightly moist but never saturated. Reduce watering during the cooler months when growth naturally slows.
Soil
Use a free-draining, moisture-retentive houseplant compost. Avoid allowing the pot to stand in water.
Temperature and Humidity
Maintain temperatures between 18–24°C and protect the plant from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes. Moderate to high humidity is ideal, making bright bathrooms and kitchens excellent locations if sufficient natural light is available.
Care
Feed every two to four weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser. Remove damaged or ageing leaves at the base to keep the plant looking fresh, and rotate the pot every few weeks to encourage balanced growth.
