How to Use

Before You Begin

Open the pack and rework the compost between your hands to help it regain its intended texture before planting.

Pots & Containers

Choose a suitable container with adequate drainage holes and add the Boost compost.

Water the plant before repotting. Gently remove it from its existing pot and shake away loose old compost where appropriate.

Position the plant at the correct depth, fill around the root ball with fresh compost and gently firm it into place.

Water thoroughly after planting.

Hanging Baskets

Add compost to a suitable hanging basket and position the plants as required, with upright plants towards the centre and trailing varieties around the edges.

Fill around the roots with compost, gently firm and water thoroughly.

Watering Advice

Although Moisture Lock Technology helps retain water, peat-free composts have a naturally more open and porous structure and may still require regular watering.

The surface can sometimes look dry while the compost remains moist further down. Before watering, push a finger into the growing medium to check the moisture level below the surface.

Westland Boost All Purpose Compost is designed specifically to give container and basket plants a healthy growing environment, combining starter nutrition with improved moisture management.

For continued feeding as plants develop, Westland recommends using Boost All Purpose Liquid Plant Food. Westland reports up to 4x more blooms when bedding plants grown in Boost All Purpose Compost are fed with Boost Liquid Plant Food, compared with unfed bedding plants.

Not suitable for ericaceous plants such as acid-loving rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias. Choose a specialist ericaceous growing medium for these plants.

Safety & Handling

Use compost in a well-ventilated area and avoid breathing in dust.

Wear gloves when gardening and wash your hands thoroughly after use.

Reseal or securely close unused compost and store it in a suitable dry location until required.
