Paperplant False Castor Oil Plant

Fatsia is an excellent, instant impact, architectural shrub for your home. The evergreen plants are glorious, with upto 45cm (8in) wide, glossy, palmate foliage. The globular white flowers turn to black seedpods by autumn.


Sow on the surface of a good free draining, damp seed compost and lightly cover the seed with vermiculite. Place in a propagator or seal the seed tray inside a polythene bag, maintaining a temperature of 18- 24°C (65-75°F) until after germination which usually takes 14-21 days. Do not exclude light as this helps germination.


Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, taking care not to damage the fragile roots, into 7.5cm (3in) pots. As roots fill the pot, move to the next size.
