About this product

Philodendron hederaceum

24cm Pot with Moss Pole

Plant Highlights: Lush heart-shaped foliage • Supplied climbing a moss pole • Fast-growing tropical houseplant • Ideal for creating vertical greenery indoors

Overview

Philodendron hederaceum is a classic tropical houseplant, admired for its glossy, heart-shaped green leaves and vigorous climbing habit. Supplied with a moss pole, it naturally grows upwards, producing a fuller, more architectural display than trailing specimens.

Growing Guide

Light

Grow in bright, indirect light for healthy foliage and steady growth. It will tolerate moderate light but may grow more slowly. Avoid prolonged direct midday sunshine.

Watering

Water thoroughly when the surface of the compost has dried slightly, allowing excess water to drain away. Reduce watering during winter when growth naturally slows.

Humidity

Average household humidity is generally suitable, although slightly higher humidity encourages more vigorous growth. Keep away from cold draughts and direct heat sources.

Routine Care

Keep the moss pole lightly moist if you want the aerial roots to attach and encourage stronger upward growth. Rotate the pot occasionally for even development and wipe the leaves clean to remove dust. Repot when the roots begin to fill the container.

Indoor Placement

Perfect for bright living rooms, home offices, bedrooms and conservatories where there is space for the plant to climb and develop. The upright habit makes it an excellent choice where floor space is limited but vertical interest is desired.

Why We Love It

  • Creates a lush vertical display with minimal floor space.
  • Glossy heart-shaped leaves provide year-round greenery.
  • Easy to grow and rewarding for both beginners and experienced plant owners.
  • Moss pole encourages a natural climbing habit and a fuller appearance.

Good to Know

Like other philodendrons, Philodendron hederaceum contains calcium oxalate crystals and should be kept out of reach of children and pets. Wear gloves if handling damaged stems or pruning if you have sensitive skin.
