A graceful climber of old English cottage gardens, these easy to grow, long lasting plants produce showers of beautiful sweet pea blooms, in carmine, rose and heavenly white. Brilliant for scrambling through shrubs or over fences.
Soak seeds overnight in warm water before sowing, 6mm (¼in) deep, 3 seeds per 7.5cm (3in) pot, in free draining, soil-based compost. Place at 16-20°C (59-68°F) until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination.
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into trays or 7.5cm (3in) pots. Grow on in cooler conditions for 10- 15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 45cm (18in) apart.
