Growing Guide
Position in bright, indirect light to maintain the strongest variegation. A little gentle morning or late afternoon sun is usually well tolerated, but avoid prolonged harsh midday sun, which may scorch the leaves. In lower light, the foliage may become less colourful.
Water when the top layer of compost feels dry, allowing excess water to drain away freely. Tradescantias appreciate moderate humidity and benefit from occasional pinching back of the growing tips to encourage a fuller, bushier plant.
Indoor Placement
'Quadricolor' is well suited to living rooms, kitchens, home offices and naturally bright bathrooms where it receives plenty of filtered light. Its cascading habit makes it particularly attractive on shelves, plant stands and in hanging planters.
Why We Love It
Few houseplants offer such a lively mix of foliage colours. The blend of pink, cream, white and green means every stem looks slightly different, creating a bright, informal display that continues to develop as the plant grows.
Good to Know
The colourful variegation is best maintained in bright conditions. If stems become long or sparse, they can be trimmed back to encourage fresh, compact growth.
