Agapanthus are flowering plants from South Africa, also known as 'African Lilies', producing globe-like clusters of trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of blue, purple, and white upon strappy, mid-green foliage. These low-maintenance plants are drought-tolerant and thrive in sunny spots with well-drained soil. They are popular for summer borders and containers, providing a showy display that attracts pollinators. While many are hardy perennials, some more tender varieties may require winter protection.
