Zantedeschia are a genus of flowering plants commonly known as Calla Lilies that are native to Southern Africa. They are admired for their striking, elegant flowers and large, glossy, arrow-shaped leaves and are used both in gardens and floral arrangements. The 'flower' is actually a colourful, trumpet-shaped bract (called a spathe) that surrounds a central spike called a spadix. They are perennial plants and can also be grown in pots or partially submerged at the edge of ponds.
